Stay Cool For Summer

Let me ask you something: do you have a pair of jeans that you never ever wear?

I have one that has been taking up space in my closet for the longest time! I bought it because at the time I thought it looked good... BUT they are really flared! HUGE flares as a matter of fact - ha ha - and I didn't want to be the only kid in school dressing for the 70's so I just never wore it.

Now, ever since I was little, my mother told me: NEVER CUT YOUR CLOTHES - never ruin them - poke holes in them... blah blah blah - you guys know what I'm talking about.

But it is summer time and I'm HOT! And I want new shorts. So I debated with myself for awhile and FINALLY decided that I will make these pair of jeans into a pair of shorts! So I went for it - finally! I've contemplated this for a really long time but just didn't have the GUTS to cut my jeans. I don't know what got me to do it but I am really glad I did.

What I did was I put on my jeans, marked how short I wanted them to be. Then I cut it with an extra four inches (or something like that) so I can have enough fabric to roll the jeans up.
Iron it down and TAH DAH!! It is just that easy and simple. I wore it all today and I am so happy to have it! SO EASY!

So if you are in the same dilemma as me - I suggest you close your eyes and use those scissors!

----------------------

I have to apologize for not writing as much as I would want. I get into a writing mode but I have absolutely nothing to write about! WEIRD huh... but no worries, I went to target today and picked out some new writing topics.

I was so EXCITED to see the ELF $1 primer at Target!!! It is MADNESS!! I will do reviews FOR SURE FOR SURE.

And I have been wanting to get my hands on these new Wet N' Wild matte lipsticks for a really long time! I got two (WHICH IS A BIT EXCESSIVE but they were only $2.99 each so I couldn't resist). I got one in Rose-bud which was the one I couldn't put down and then I saw Wine Room which was the one that I've been wanting since all the swatches gone up for these lipsticks.

Finally, I have been wanting a new nail polish color for the longest time. Again, being so cheap - I was like - MUST HAVE IT! I got the WnW Megalast nail color in Underground. Very pretty mauve - there is also another purple/lilac color too. Can't wait to get that later.

That is the lipstick color in Rose-bud. It is a very true PINK but warm pink so it is so wearable for me! LOVE it so far.

Also, this was my FOTD on my BDAY dinner. I had so much fun w/ my friends and I really enjoyed my make up here. And I gotta say, thanks to UDPP - my make up lasted through dinner and fun fun dancing. So, let's hope ELF can deliver the same thing... I will certainly let you know.

Thanks so much for reading!! Be sure to stay tuned for swatches and reviews of all the products mentioned.

If you have a brain, Do-It-Yourself!

So, besides make up, I LOVE to DIY! Especially sewing wise.

For example, a year ago, I made:

My sister got me the pattern for my birthday and I went to town with it!

For awhile, my sewing machine was broken and I couldn't do anything with it but I got a new one for Christmas this year.

So...

I made THIS:

What the heck is that?? Well, let me show you -

It is a brush... roll... sorta. It has places for me to hold my brushes on the right and then on the left, I made a little pouch for random make up. And let me tell you - I was so surprised by the amount that could fit in that pouch!

Definitely NOT PERFECT! The patch at the top to cover the bristles is not straight... SIGH! Oh well. I'll live.

So this might not be something that everyone can do - but I hope it is some sort of inspiration for you and your next project!

This took me... if I were to sit and do this - 12 hours. Yes, I made a bunch of calculation mistakes... but it is my first brush roll though.

I still think this pouch is GREAT for light travel. Just pop in a concealer, blush, bronzer, liner, mascara, chapstick and lipstick (YES, that will all fit! especially with smaller products like Jane's blushes or Covergirl's blushes and a drugstore shadow quad) and I'm all set!

If anyone wants more info - just go ahead and ask! And if you don't have your own sewing machine - JUST sew by hand. It works just as great.

ELF Eyeshadow Brush Make Over

I'm sure everyone should know the ELF $1 eyeshadow brush by now! It is famous among the make up community especially online! I a proud mama of two of them and I have to say they don't disappoint... until they break on you.

I kind of expected it - being $1 and all. With the first one, the brushes and the handle just came loose by themselves. With the second, I dropped it and it came loose and eventually I just pulled them apart.

Now, this might upset some of you guys but honestly... it's not hard to fix w/ SUPER GLUE! My sister had a project that she needed superglue for and I just grabbed some of it and glued the two back together. Now, some of the glue gooed out so there was remnant of glue on the handle. I took care of that w/ some stickers.

Here are my newly decorated and fixed up eye shadow brushes! YAY!

It's a DIY, baby!

So, I've been watching a bunch of videos regarding making your own palettes. Now, why would I care to make my own since E.L.F has a really cool quad palette for $1 already?? Why go through the trouble??

Well my friends, it is because
1) I LOVE DIY!!! I love being creative like that and making things on my own is F.U.N!
2) Because I've been eyeing the mark shadows and they are square and so you can't fit them into a normal E.L.F or any make up palette - same idea if I want to depot my NYX shadows.
3) B/c it's so FUN!!!... Oops, I already said that. Now onto the pics...

This is what it looks like.

This is what it looks like inside... COOL eh??

Magnets are found at any craft store - Micheal's or Joanne's. I got mine at Joanne's for ~$1.50

Genius I tell you, genius (PS. Ironically, I couldn't spell genius... had to use the dictionary).

So you're wondering, what is that BOX?? And how did I get it??

Chances are: You used to have it but you probably threw a bunch of it away. Okay, I'll get to the point. Do you remember when AOL used to be this huge new internet service thing and it kept sending free CD's to try out... YUP, that's the box!

*pic from Google. Mine is obviously bigger ^__^

I was lucky enough to find one because I remember throwing away a bunch of them when I was cleaning the house months ago.

I just glued a bunch of magazine cut outs to decorate it. Glued on some magnets and TAH DAH!!

Next stop - pressing some pigments to add to my new palette

Thank for reading! Toodles~
