Hello everyone! I am back with more goodness - and I'm kinda excited to do this PRODUCTS BATTLE!!!

This time, it is between three brands and this time it is about CREME BLUSHES!!!



Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush // Revlon Cream Blush // NYC Blushable Creme Stick

The Colors:

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Rose Petal - neutral pink with a bit of shimmer to it
Revlon Cream Blush in Berry Flirtatious - berry pink; matte finish
NYC Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush - neutral pink with a hint of coral; dewy finish

Pigmentation:

I would say that the Revlon has the most pigmentation - but that just might be because it has the brightest color which shows up better on my face.

NYC one is pretty sheer but the color is very buildable so you can easily achieve the color you desire.

Maybelline mousse blush is sheer too - unfortunately it has little glitter particles so the more you build this color up, more shimmer will follow.

NOTE: putting a powder blush over these creme blushes can make the powder blush look more vibrant and last longer.

Texture:

Maybelline's mousse blush is well known for the awesome texture! So it feels like mousse and blends like a dream - it is so light and creamy, it feels like this is meant to be eaten.

NYC creme stick is the second best - blends easily at first but if you are building the color, you might have to do more work. Thus - you might ruin the make up that is underneath.

This is where the Revlon one has trouble. It is so hard to blend with this... ugh... I'm still trying to figure out best way to apply it.

Lasting Power:

I think that the Revlon had the longest lasting power because it is so hard to budge off the skin - same reason why it is hard to blend.

NYC one is again in the middle. It can last up to 3-4 hours for me - which is pretty good!

Alas, Maybelline mousse blush seem to last a very short time on my face.

NOTE: By putting a powder blush over the top, I tend to get a really nice staying power for my blushes... so I rarely wear creme blushes on they own.

OVERALL: I would totally recommend the new NYC blush creme stick!!! This stuff is great and they have a dewy finish but not exactly shimmery like my Maybelline one. I think the color choices are really nice and since it is the cheapest one out of all three, I'm planning to get a few more. By the way, you get 8 grams per stick! DANG that's a lot.

I also really enjoy the Maybelline mousse blush because of the texture! I just wish it shows up better and that it doesn't have as much glitter in it. I also like it more if it lasted longer on my face. But that's okay.

And finally - I think I probably won't buy another Revlon creme blush just because I hate blending it. It takes quite a bit of energy... does anyone else have this problem too??

So... my birthday is tomorrow... and my parents got me a netbook!!! Yay - it would be perfect for school. I'm so excited. It's white and adorable.




So, I'm turning 21... yay right? Well I am planning to hang out with my friends and go out but I don't feel like being 21 will be any different! Although I am a year older... yuck... I hate being older.

But now I need some advice: what should I get for myself? A bunch of drugstore items (I've been wanting to try out the new WnW palettes and matte lipsticks) or one really nice high end item?

And by high end item - which one do you guys recommend???

Battle of the Duos

So I posted that I got the Milani Sunset Duos a while back and I thought of doing a review on the product. But since I'm inspired by the Olympics, I shall compare two products side by side...

Who will win GOLD???

So, this is the product I just mentioned:

Got it for 75% at CVS a month ago.

This is me, wearing the duo + some highlighter, also from Milani called Glimmer Stripes in Honey Glimmer.




What do I think? I think I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the bronzer. It is such a nice color when it comes to perking up your complexion a bit. Not too overwhelming and not shimmery either. I do notice a sort of light reflect but not so much that my face is shiny. No, this is a really great bronzer. The only complaint I have is the pigmentation, but it really isn't a complaint really. This bronzer is not the most pigmented (which is really beneficial for fair skin ladies) so I do have to build it up little by little. But since this is bronzer and no one wants to look like their just got hit in the face with faker tanner, less pigmentation is good and safe to use.

Now the blush is really pretty. However, I don't think it shows up on me as well as I hope. It is shimmery which I think looks nice in conjunction w/ the highlighter. BUT I really wish this blush goes on me a little better. Even so, I love this blush and I think when the eyes are really smoked out, it is nice to have a lighter shade of blush so the face doesn't look like a clown.

So, what I think of this duo??? I think it is fantastic! Definitely something I'd look into repurchasing.

So, how does it compare to my ELF blush and bronzer duo??


I would say this is a really really close race!! And it is something that I'm, the judge and the consumer, is still debating about. Trust me, I've watched the replay vid over and over again just to make the call... but I can't do it.

I did a review on this before and I said this was the BEST buy of January! I say that this has the better blush! The blush in this is gorgeous on me and other people too. The only qualm is the bronzer being a bit darker than I would like but, again, really isn't a complaint because it looks fine on me.




** As you can see, Milani has the lighter bronzer and blush; and the blush is more shimmery and I would say more peachy.

** ELF on the other hand has the darker colors; the blush isn't as shimmery and it is more pinky but definitely has the peachy undertone.

So there you have it. I guess to summarize it all, I would recommend BOTH :) But I think if you are fairer than me, I'd look into the Sunset duos first. The bronzers there are lighter and easier to work with. Of course, ELF is online and Milani can be found at drugstores... although Milani's been getting rarer and harder to find. Still, you can purchase this duo and other duos at Cherry Culture.

Lady GaGa's new song... is stuck in my head. Great. But anyways, I just want to write something today because I KNOW that school starts tomorrow which means that posting will be a problem and commenting will also be hard.

Probably not this week - because it is only the first week back - but starting next week...

I have to get ready for my Pharmacy school interview!!!

PS. Is it important to wear a blazer? Do the blazer and the pants have to match in color. I have a black blazer and a gray pair of pants.

Okay, so this might be the best purchase of this month.

** As you know, one of my New Year resolution is to keep a budget of $20 a month... ha ha... fat chance. I already spent $30 and it is only the beginning of this month. BAD! I know. So I'm gonna stop for January.

So what is this purchase you ask? Well my friends, let me show you:


The ELF blush and bronzer duo set.

YES, YES YES, I absolutely adore this thing!! So, I'm just gonna do what I do best and write a pro/con list.

PRO:
- CHEAP - 4g for $3 on the website

- The blush is just fantastic. It is a nice coral shade but unlike a lot of drugstore coral shade, this one is not light. It is a bit darker so I don't need to keep building the color but it is still a very natural look. It has enough pigment after one swipe of the brush. It has a bit of golden shimmer in it but it is not obvious when you wear it. I think this will give you a beautiful glow during spring and summer! (YES, I'm ready for those seasons now).

- The bronzer is soooo amazing!! AH it gives a beautiful warmth to my face. It just makes my face glow and tan. Again, this is a bit on the darker side so fair girls: do be aware. Also has a tiny bit of golden shimmer that won't show through too much. Overall, I really enjoy this color on my face. Not orange but more brown. Really fits the definition of BRONZER/TAN.

- I got complimented on the blush :D HE HE!!!!! You have no idea that much that makes me happy. I love being complimented but especially on my complexion.



- The mirror/packaging is one of my favorite parts. I love this mirror!! It is HUGE! I put it up against my other mirror and did this whole optic illusion of a mirror inside a mirror inside a mirror... the point is... this mirror is an awesome size... and for traveling YES!!!! PERFECT size.

CONS:
- If you have a lighter skin tone, this might be a bit too dark... but it doesn't hurt to try but just apply w/ a lighter hand.

- If you don't like shimmer... well this won't be for you either. But this thing isn't so obvious that people will be like - why is your face so shiny - it is blinding me.

- You have to order this online ** but I think it will come to Target soon though.

Okay, so now that I'm done w/ that... I will get to the make up section of this post:

Winter make up!! What is different? Well, I find the biggest difference is in the colors that I choose. Not really the eyes but the face... I'll show you what I mean:


*Rimmel's Natural Mineral Bronzer in Sunlight

BRONZER!!! I feel so pale and look so unhealthy without bronzers! I know people love their bronzers in the summer but I'm so tan anyways that I never reach for it... until now. No, I'm not kidding, I can really see a difference in my face and my coloring. It is really nice!

This bronzer is my first, only, and def. favorite! I was sad to miss out on the Milani Bronzer sale at Walgreens this week. Oh well!

Besides that, blushes are also very different (and one reason I wanted to do this post so I can show you this pic):

* Shimmery blushes!

Okay, so this isn't extremely shimmery but more satiny. For some reason I really like the glow the finish gives my face. Again, this is stuff peole pull out during summer time but I guess I am just backwards. I think since the sun isn't there anymore I need extra glowiness... and that's why these have been used more often than in the summer time. Plus during the sun hits the product and my face look like some sorta disco ball! BTW, I use my Revlon cream blush to be the base since they all need that :)

But check out those Santa hats! Aren't they f'ing amazing :D

However, the blush I have on today is probably my most pigmented blush and the blush that will surely give you the "Oh, I just played in the snow and now I've come back in" look - pretty rosey cheeks!!!

*Covergirl Cheekers in Deep Rose

I wore this today and I was like "OH YES!! YES YES!! UH HUH!!" you know what I mean. I absolutely love the color it gave me... and the best part... pigmentation. I barely put any on. LOVE IT!

Finally, and this is kinda an important one:

* Pond's face cream

This baby has saved me from crazy dry skin! I absolutely love it :D

OOKAY!! Anyways, so I feel a little awkward about going to this particular CVS to look at make up.

Sometimes I go pick up my sister and her school is really close to a CVS so If I'm ever really early, I'll just stop by for 5 mins to look at the sales or at stuff... you know the usual. Well lately, there's like this security dude standing at the door. And at first he's just a nice little greeter but the other day I can totally tell that he is looking to make sure I wasn't shop lifting or anything. It's that kind of scrutiny that I really don't like! It's like - dude, leave me alone! I know I come by here a lot (twice a week sometimes) for just a few mins but that doesn't mean that I am shop lifting! I felt uncomfortable! So now I probably won't go there anymore... or I'll wait awhile to go back :)

This morning I went to Walgreens to check out their sales... all the PF are gone! That's okay though... I was there more for the bronzers but I picked up Java Bean from Milani (those shadows are on sale BTW!!) and the cashier couldn't scan for the longest time! It took him like 10 mins!

What is up with drugstore and make up. Is like there is a CURSE put on me - I can't buy my make up from dugstores smoothly anymore! Ha ha. At least I still have ULTA -oh please don't take that away from me too!

- Anyways, thanks for reading! I just took a bunch of pics so wait for more upcoming posts! Right now, I just want to be sleeping... OH WELL.

It Has Happened...

My mom is definitely not a make up person and it is really accurate to say that I did not develop this new hobby due to her. It was b/c of Youtube :D I remember that my Dad bought her an Elizabeth Arden make up kit for anniversary or Valentines or something but most of it belong to me now - although they are as OLD as heck and need to be thrown out!

However, it is accurate to say that I've influenced her with her new (not as big) interest for cosmetic. Of course, she still focus more on the skin care - anti aging and moisturizing stuff. And she is a big make up snob - "Drugstore make up will turn your lips purple and your eye lids black..." - I still got her to try out mascaras and stuff.

Recently, I've been noticing some changes in my make up stash... why are there orange specks on the dresser's surface? Wait... where is my Max Factor 2000 Calorie????????? WHERE IS IT!!??

It seems that my mother is to blame. The orange powder:



It's my Maybelline Mineral Power Blush in True Peach II. It's a really pretty corally color and it seems that is my mom's favorite weapon of choice. Now, why did she choose the mineral... the hardest blush to keep clean...?? I don't know. Needless to say, I've had to clean my area a few times now. And she's always so sneaky about it. I've never been able to catch her using it but she always manages somehow.

**Mini review: This blush is really pigmented - no need to pile it on. It's mineral so it can get messy. Lasting power is decent I think - longer than I would expected but to make it last a long time - use some sort of primer. A cream blush underneath perhaps. This is a really nice MATTE blush - yes, no sparkles. Gives a really great glow if you don't overuse it. That is an important point. You get so much product! And it is fairly cheap. I'd recommend trying out something like this but not all of the Maybelline Mineral Power blushes are matte so beware.

Also, I found my Max Factor 2000 Calorie in her room the other day. I left it there. It is nice to see her enjoying herself with make up. I feel like when a person just takes a little bit more time trying to look better, it boosts their confidence a little bit - well, maybe that's just my view and experience. It's kinda like "I don't feel like crap and I shouldn't look like it either". However, I was relieved that I've found the mascara. Should I tell her that this new beloved item is discontinued in America? I'll save that for later.

It seems so easy and I can totally make the mask. I will also get some pretty feathers and decorate the mask and dress... so much fun! Anyways, I have no definite plans for Halloween yet... which always sucks because I like to know NOW! But no worries.

Confession of a Blush-aholic

So, my make up collection is growing. Actually, scratch that - it's not really a collection. I don't buy stuff just to have it. I really buy stuff because I think I could really use it. And I have a drawer full of make up. I would say 35% of it is blush! Blush blush blush! No matter what, I just keep buying it even though I know it is impossible for me to use them all up! But I don't swap my blushes away either! I don't know. I just really love BLUSH! It is an essential thing for me to have for my daily make up routine. So I'll share w/ you by beautiful babies.

1) The PINKS


- WnW's Pearlescence Pink: I love this (some say it is a Nars Orgasm dupe) but it has the golden glitter that makes me not want to wear it for everyday.

- Jane's Blushing Petal and Blushing Plum: amazing blushes! So cheap and so wearable for everday :D

2) The CORALS/PEACH


- Revlon's Honey Bunch: one reason I don't swatch for this is the packaging. It looks so pretty! And though I barely use this (I don't know why... b/c I love the color) I'm planning to keep this til the end!

- WnW's Spotlight Peach: one of my favorite blushes! I wrote a review and even place it as a product spotlight. Yes, I adore this baby. Oh, and you get 9 grams! DANG!

- CoverGirl's Pretty Peach: I think that's the name. One of my first blushes I ever bought for myself. It is so pretty although I wish it was a bit more pigmented on my skin.

** - Maybelline's Mineral Powder Blush in True Peach II: recently got it and very pretty - although I hate using mineral powder things.

3) The MISC Colors


- Revlon's Rose Petal: I think that's the name. It's kinda a mauvy-pink color. Another blush that I got since the beginning. I like it although it as a bit of a sheen to it. I use to apply it w/ a scratchy brush that it came w/... oh good old times :)

- CoverGirl's Deep Rose: Perfect color for the winter - when I'm all pale and stuff. It is like an apple red color. Very pigmented! Weird smell though - that goes for all the CG cheekers blush.

- NYX's Terracota: Adore this color! Peachy, corally, bronzy, but goes on a really really natural pink! LOVE IT! I believe this is my most expensive blush at $6-7. Yeah, most of my blushes I got on sale :D The only thing about this blush is that it isn't matte so there is a bit of a problem when it comes to wearing it everday. But I do love this color!

** - Milani's Luminous: Been wanting this for awhile but finally swapped for it! Yay. It's pretty good so far. Kinda has the same problems as my NYX.

4) Finally, Cream Blushes!


- Maybelline's Mousse Blush in Rose Petal: I really like this blush!! I love it but it has golden specs in it and so I can't wear it everyday because people will def. ask why my face is sparkly! But I love it nonetheless.

- Revlon's Berry Flirtatious: I like this cream blush - very pigmented and has great potential to last awhile. Not the biggest fan w/ the color but it will have to do for now. Best part is - it's MATTE! BUT it is hard to blend!

- Jane's Blushstix in Shimmering Pink: Not too shimmery. Smells bad - hey, I already did a review for this so I don't really want to repeat myself.

- E.L.F's Colorstick in Pink Lemonade: Smells bad. Kinda have the same shimmer as the Jane one. Def. not my favorite! Still usable though.

That's all I have. Well, it's a lot! But yeah. I tell you I love blushes! This leads to my announcement of:


I've decided to do a 10 Pan Project or whatever the order of the words are suppose to be. Can you see the words in the pic? On this computer, I can't see it at all!

So far:
+ Neutrogena Ance Stress Control Cleanser
+ Burts Bee's Lip balm (my 2nd or 3rd tube I think)

My hope is to hit pan on one of these blushes! I hate for them to go to waste.

Give me, give me more... reviews

When I started this blog, I wanted reviewing to play a big part in it. However, I find reviews means more writing - and more writing means more work - and more work sucks because I get very lazy.

BUT I've gotten over that today for a brief moment to write a new review and hopefully will help you in your decision next time you're at a drugstore or something.

I am talking about the Revlon Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss.



** Terrible cropped pics b/c I've never taken a picture w/ it by itself.

First thoughts:
+ Hmmm, does it look like something... I don't know... I can't put my finger on it... OH RIGHT! THE MAC's MINERALIZE SKINFINISH... DOI!
+ It looks very pretty - colors of tan and gold together. Might make a lovely bronzer w/ golden touches. Nice to highlight with. Good summer glow.
+ Yikes $13.99, that sucks but def. cheaper than the MAC's MSF if it does turn out to be a dupe.
(Oh yeah, I always abbreviate when I write 'definitely', dunno why)

Okay, so those are my initial thoughts when I was at the store, couple of months ago, in April, I think.

Final Thoughts:
PROS:
+ Pretty color
+ Healthy - talc free and all that

CONS:
+ Really really sheer - not enough pigmentation
+ Looks like pure shimmer

OVERALL: 2/5

Okay, so maybe that's not a lot but point is you put this stuff on and it doesn't show up or it shows up as shimmers... it doesn't have any colors so I don't get why it even has colors. It just wasn't worth it for the $14.

So I would say don't buy it. If you want a pretty baked mineralized blush or bronzer or whatever, look to Prestige for that. I hear that might be better and cheaper too (maybe, I don't get Prestige here so I wouldn't know).
I ended up swapping this for something else. Sorry Revlon~ Has anyone else tried this?? Did it work for you? Let me know :)

It's nothing crazy but it is something I'd totally wear. It just looks like you can wear it everywhere - party, casual, school, work! I love that the outfit is pretty neutral but then the shoes and the belt makes a statement - kinda bold statement too.

I was so new at this site that I didn't know they had tons of pages of clothes. I only thought they had one page for each clothing category. But anyways, I'm glad I don't have this much clothes because I'd be so confused what to wear all the time... but it would be nice.

Maybelline - a review

I've been using these two products for a few months now and I just want to write something about it. So, here goes, HOW I FEEL ABOUT THESE TWO PRODUCTS:

Dream Mousse Blush in Rose Petal:
- Can find this any drugstore. I got mine for $6-7
PROS:
* Pretty color
* Goes on so smoothly and easy to blend
* Really pretty and natural finish
* Great as a blush primer
* Buildable

CONS:
* Golden shimmer - can't wear this by itself (for me)
* Doesn't last long by itself
* Color is sheer - needs to be built for color to show on darker skin tones

OVERALL: 3.5/5
* This was my first cream blush and even though there is a bit on CONS, I still like using this as a blush base. The only thing I don't like about it is the golden shimmer (but some of you might like it). The finish it leaves is great! The airless feel to it makes it seems like you are blushing naturally. I think it won't be too much harm to at least try out this product.

Expert Wear Eyeshadow single in Beach Blush
- Can find this any drugstore. I got mine for $3-4
PROS:
* Pretty pretty taupe shade!
* Last a long time (I was impressed!)
* Doesn't crease as much (or at all sometimes... my lids are temperamental)
* Soft nice texture - not powdery when brush is dipped in
* Great for all-over lid color or crease

CONS:
* Can be sheer - color needs to be built sometimes and even depends on the brush you use

OVERALL: 4.5/5
* First of all, why but the word 'blush' in your shadow name. It's weird. But I do love this blush shadow. I could only find one CON which is saying something. I've never tried the singles when they were in the blue packaging (tried the quad and trio) so I can't compare on how Maybelline's doing on their new formula but it is pretty good. I'm really impressed w/ the lasting power. Again, one of those things that wouldn't hurt you if you tried it :)

The Blush Attack

So, Jane. going out of business and all has amazing sales lately and me, being a cheapo and all, got some coupons and decided to go shopping. I am now a proud owner of 3 Jane blushes!!

*image quality sucks! I miss my photoshop! Had to use my crappy Paint....



Blushing petal is matte - which is so awesome. It's a cool tone pink though so it won't warm up your face. Looks good for winter.

Blushing earth sheer is a lighter peachy pink color. Pretty shimmery (but I feel like the shimmer dies down a little after a while). Very light so it won't work on darker tanner skin tones.

Blushing plum is awesome! Plum is not like the actual fruit where it is like a bruised purple. No, it's really bright fun pink! Perfect for spring and summer. I like it. A bit shimmery so beware.

I find that all these blushes are pigmented and they are all last a while. I honestly recommend them especially now w/ a huge sale and all. I got Earth Sheer and Plum for 0.50 cent each b/c of the coupons. So be on the look out!

Yes, I got a bunch of these in January so it isn't new or anything. So, what do I think of them?

First of all, they are so cheap!! And you guys should know that I'm big old cheaper and I don't like to spend a lot of money on anything unless I feel like I need it. Sometimes, I try to convince myself that I need some makeup and that's when I do go and buy stuff. Anyways, this is not a post about me, it is about my Wet N' Wild stuffies:

1)Pressed Powder
I got this for 75c and that's why I even got it in the first place. This is my first experiment w/ a pressed powder. I wanted something that would just set my liquid foundation. I think this is good for that. Just a light touch with a big fluffy brush and you're foundation will stay and your face will be matte. Now, I think that this pressed powder SUCKS in being a pressed powder. It doesn't really give you any coverage and sometimes I feel like it makes my pores look bigger. I don't think it'll prevent shines or anything (my skin is dry so I don't worry about it). So honestly, save yourself the money and buy something better! If you're like me and just need a powder to set foundation, then get this. It's cheap, it doesn't clog pores, it doesn't irritate my skin. It's been okay for me. The reason why I do set my foundation is to prevent streaking of blushes and bronzers. It happens when my face is still kinda 'wet' with foundation.

Overall: 2/5


2)Blush Pearlescent Pink
What intrigued me was the idea of a 'silky finish'. And I don't quite know if it does give me that. However, this is a LOVELY color!! Very pigmented~ The only problem (and maybe not a problem) is that it has a lot of gold glitter in it. Now, this glitter is really pretty. It's like shimmer instead of glitter but I wouldn't wear it in the day time. I save this blush for going out at night. And it truly works perfectly for that. The only thing that I don't like is staying power. I'm not sure if it has the ability to stay for more than 2 hours. I doubt it.

Overall: 4/5


3)MegaGlo Illuminator Spotlight Peach
Indeed, this might be my favorite product out of my entire haul! I LOVE THIS THING! AHH!! It gives me a nice subtle tannish peachy color for my cheeks. Since I'm not fair, it looks really natural on me! When I use my Ecotools blush brush, it just goes on perfectly. I really recommend people buying one of these blushes b/c they kick butt!!! YES, they do. Let me say it again - PERFECT for everyday look~
