Battle of the Primers

VS.

Who will win?

So the idea of an eye primer is to make the quality of the shadows better - more pigmentation, better "blendibility", and greater staying power.

Hearing this news, I was like "Yeah! Give me some-a-that!" When I watch youtube vids or read makeupalley reviews on these primers, I was given the impression that these will prevent my shadows from creasing and fading through out the day.

** I'm sorry that there are no pictures... first of all it's kinda hard for my camera to pick up on all the details of my make up... and also I haven't had time! SORRY!

These primers - as you both know are $17 - but I bought them for cheaper prices from blog sales. So I got both for $11 each... so I don't know, look out for those sales! For a while, I would use both primers at the same time to compare the results. My findings surprised me:

- my shadows STILL CREASED!!! And they still faded... and I was somewhat disappointed. I thought this was gonna be my lifesaver and would make my eye make up look fresh and awesome throughout the day. No, no, no - alas... no. But you know what, it really did help the pigmentation of these shadows. I also think it helps w/ blending because they both turn my lids into very smooth canvases. So the application process is a great improvement but the wear isn't that great.

An important thing to note is that both primers are not very consistant. I mean, I always apply these primers in the same way - place the product on my lids and smooth out w/ my finger. But these primers would work great one day, crease another, and many other things varying in between. I guess it also really depends on the weather. They both wear better in cooler temperature... but you don't need me to tell you that.

And they both work pretty much the same on me... like one would crease one day and the other would crease the other day.... OR BOTH creased on the same day. So when it comes down to which one do I like better I have a lot of other factors helping me make this decision.

- TEXTURE - UDPP has a creamier texture while I find TFSI kinda runny and wet. Being runny and wet - TFSI has the higher tendency to come apart - into oil and product. I am starting to notice that w/ my TFSI. While the UDPP still holding on strong to it's texture.

- PACKAGING - UDPP has that wand that I like... I don't know why but I like that you can directly place the product on your lids. This allows me to calculate how much product I should use. W/ TFSI, even though it is in a tube and stuff, I never know how much product to use. It's weird - it's probably just me... you can probably ignore this fact.

- WHAT I NOTICED - is that UDPP, once set, is drier than TFSI - this means YAY to those girls w/ really oily lids. UDPP actually grabs on the shadows better - I've noticed. But this means that it is harder to blend.

So, seriously - which would I choose??? UDPP, my friend, is the winner. I just like using it better. Thing is that both products work the same on me that you can't really compare them in that way - so it really comes down to personal preference. But I just think that UDPP lasts longer than TFSI.

However, do you guys think eye primers are really that necessary? I know for me, before using primers, my shadows would crease and whatever but my shadows still creased when I used primers. I think I should experiment on that more and let you know.

And if I run out of UDPP - I will be looking into ELF and L'Oreal Decrease to figure out which is better. I don't think I'd want to spend $17 all the time on one product.

This is probably such a horrible post b/c there are no pics and stuff... I'm sorry! This was totally an impromtu post. I just find myself at liberty this morning.

And for you lovely ladies that commented on my last post - Thank you so much! You guys are really sweet and I'm so lucky to have gotten to know you through this blogging journey.... HUGS AND KISSES for all of you!!!

Oh and speaking of which - I can't believe I've been on blogspot for a year now!!! WOO HOO!! I probably can't have a giveaway - b/c I'm so broke, it isn't even funny. But maybe I will do something in the summer!!!

LOVE YOU ALL - thanks for the awesome comments. I hope this helped.

Wipe it! Wipe it good.

I really want to do a review with this product because I bought it for my trip and I have been using it a lot to remove my make up.

A major PRO for this product is the ability to sit down at your computer or your TV or anywhere and removing your make up. Sometimes, I hate that I waste my time in the bathroom removing my make up - especially mascara and other hard to remove things. Like last night, I was watching TV and I just had this wipe and it was pretty awesome. I like that it isn't messy - you don't deal with liquids. I think it is pretty awesome for a trip if you are afraid of carrying your make up remover. It doesn't irritate my eyes which is nice.

As far as removing the make up - it takes a few swipes to get rid of mascara! I get annoyed that it doesn't get rid of it faster since it isn't a waterproof mascara. It leaves some sort of residue - not so bad that you'd be GROSSED OUT and you can probably wash it off (I do). I don't think the residue it leaves is that bad compared to the Clean and Clear Eye Make Up Remover stuff. Thing is, I wish I bought another type of make up wipers because this doesn't really clean the face. I wish that this could remove make up and all the dirt and oil on the skin. No, this only works on make up... and so I have to do the extra step of using a cleanser or something. That is kinda disappointing since I'm hoping this would just CLEAN my entire face!

Overall - I like the product... but I probably won't buy it again. I think I shall search for that make up wipe that eventually will clean my face for me too. This was a fairly inexpensive product - $7-$8. And you get 25 towelettes!

Okay so I have been kinda suffering from some weird type of depression... I think it has to do w/ hormones and periods - PMS. But it is one of the reasons for my lack of updates just because I haven't felt interested in writing one at all lately. I don't think my symptoms are severe enough though that I should really be worried about it. I looked up some stuff online - don't worry it is MedlinePlus which is pretty accurate and it is what my PSIO class recommended us to use for our research - and the symptoms they put up are way worse than what I experience. Plus I don't think I feel so bad that I need to be prescribe depression medicine. So I'm sorry for the lack of activity on my part. I just haven't felt enough motivation I guess.

All the females out there, what do you think? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Going On A Trip!!

So my Spring Break is starting next week... 14th-19th but I am starting it early. GUESS where I'm going???

GUESS....

YES!! You totally read my mind:

HAWAII!!!!

WOO HOO!!!

So, of course, this week, I can't concentrate in class AT ALL!!! And I also just couldn't have enough concentration to write a new post. But, I need your opinion!

These are the stuff that I'm planning on bringing:

Foundation:
- Maybelline's Mineral Power concealer
- EDM's Semi-matte foundation in Winged Butter + brush
- Maybelline's Dream Matte Powder

HELP: I don't know what to do w/ my moisturizer! One of them is in one of those bottle pump thingy (Cetaphil) and I'm afraid it will squirt all over the place. Oh and obviously I will bring sun screen!

Lips:
- Maybelline's Moisture Extreme in Rosy Glow and Rum Raisin

HELP: Anything else?? I will def. bring chapstick! FOR SURE. I'm also thinking of getting the Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balms too.

Eyes:
- ELF quad in Butternut
- WnW trio in Mojave Mauves
- Revlon quad in Coffee Beans
- Revlon eyeliner
- Max Factor 2000 Mascara
- WnW's Brow pencil in taupe (really good! Very natural looking :D)
- UDPP (OR TSFI??)

HELP: Anything from drugstore that will help me achieve a nice beachy look when I'm just going out?

Face:
- ELF's blush/bronzer duo
- NYX Terracota

HELP: Anything else?????

So as you can see, I tried to keep things minimal. Nothing too much because it will only be a week! But I also just want to look awesome when we aren't hiking, or going to the beach.

---------------------------

ALSO:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me - what should my friends and I do when we are there? We will be in Kauai???

---------------------------

I also want to end this post w/ a quick review and proposal:

So I grabbed this Revlon's Pearle single shadow in Brushed Copper:

Texture is great, color has decent pigmentation. And the color is really really pretty - great for a nice lid shade. I think it will really open up people's eyes and really brightens them.

BUT - it has glitter!!!!!!!

While these glitter are not big chunks and will not fall off your face, it does have glitter. And I DESPISE glitter!!! Note though - it is only in the PERLE finish that has these microglitter. I'm so mad, I should've gotten the satin finish. I've always always liked satin finishes more but this color just called out to me from the walls of the Revlon display and I had to get it. But alas, I am a bit disappointed w/ my choice.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is just a personal choice. I just don't like glitter, no matter how small it is. I know some people are completely fine with it and I feel like some people could really enjoy it :)

So, I have a proposal - does anyone want this to try out?? I have only used it 2x and just don't like the glitter. I can't do swatches because it is such a light color but it is like a champagne, pinky, w/ peachy and goldeny undertones. I don't know...

If you guys are interested, please let me know. This could be like a contest or something.

- Just leave me a message and I will mail it to you... no charge! Please also put down your email address and I'll contact you there.

HOW'S THAT???

That's awesome!!!

I have a philosophy in make up (and possibly life... but not really) - why keep things that you never will use again. Why hoard it like a crazy person when someone out there can enjoy it more than you?

And I shall leave you with that. BYE BYE.
