Haulage, Review, and Playing of NYX

So as you guys all know about the HUGE sale on Cherryculture for NYX. And no, I did not just got my stuff today. I got it a few weeks ago but I wanted to play around with them first before I post anything. So, here are some pics to tell the story:

Stuff from Cherry Culture.

Root Beer and Taupe

Mega Shine lip gloss in Frosteed Beige (I thought these were the Goddess of the Night lip glosses...)

Then Ulta was having a buy 2 get 2 free... and I did

Iced Mocha and Champagne

--- REVIEW ---
Eye shadows:
- I love that the texture is soft and smooth which makes it easy to blend
- The darker colors are so pigmented!
- The lighter colors need a base to be good but they are gorgeous colors!
- Not overly shimmery (if they are) although Champagne is a bit frosty
- I don't like that they are a bit powdery
- That they need a base (although most eye shadows need bases to be vibrant)

I give this product: 5/5!!!

Honestly, these are the best eye shadows I have so far. I can see myself using it for almost anything - dramatic, neutral - and just so great and easy to work it. You just can't go wrong with these!

Jumbo pencils:
- I really like them as bases for shadows. They work great.
- You can also use them on their own but they will smudge... so be careful. Don't put too much.
- I don't like the packaging. It can get messy really quickly if the cap is not put on right.
- Some colors a bit dark so you can't really use a lighter shade on top without making that shade look dark too.

Overall: 4/5

Lip gloss:
- Umm... well, it's nothing special but it is a really nice nude gloss. Really great for nude lips :D.
- I also don't think it is drying or sticky or goopy.
- The applicator is a lot bigger than some of my other lip glosses (bad or good, you decide).
- I really love the bow at the top.
- Can't wait to try more colors out b/c nude colors bore me at the moment.

Overall: 4/5

Finally, end of this ginormous post w/ a FOTD (well from a long time ago) using ALL NYX PRODUCTS! Another neutral shade, of course :D.

EYES: NYX Iced Mocha and Champagne
Maybelline Full and Soft mascara
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Blackberry

LIPS: NYX Round Lip stick in Thalia

FACE: NYX blush in Terracotta (really nice on my cheeks!)

That is all for now. Mother this is a long post.

Attempting a KBell Look

Here is another contest entry for La.Morena's celebrity make up contest. I found this pic of Kristen Bell and I thought her makeup (and clothes) look so cool that I wanted to try it out. It's a very bright orange look... and it's totally meant to be b/c I received a free sample from Coastal Scents of their really bright and shimmery orange pigment called: Tawny. So enough w/ the babbling and to the pictures right??

For those that don't know her, she's best known from the TV show Veronica Mars. She also plays a character on Heroes (I don't think she's still on there). She's the voice for Gossip Girl. She's in a bunch of other films too! She is adorable and I really like her.

I really should've kept a pic of her close by but eh, I tried.

Bigger Image, Bigger Image 2, Bigger Image 3 :D

- Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation (mixed w/ moisturizer)
- Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sunlight
- Wet n Wild Pressed Powder
- Wet n Wild Pearlescent Pink (barely put any on)
- Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer (for under eyes)

- Coastal Scents eyeshadow in Tawny
- Covergirl Eyeshadow quad in Tropical
- ELF eyeshadow quad in Butternut
- Maybelline eyeshadow quad in Chai Latte (the darker shade was used for eyebrows)
- Victoria's Secret Perfect Lipstick in Sweet Nothing
- Revlon's Lustrous lip gloss in Life's A Peach
- Burts Bees lip balm

Tah Dah!! I really like recreating celeb's make up! I'll keep at it~ It's summer time so a bunch of free time yeah?

NYX Jumbo Pencils

As you guys know, I am pretty new to make up. I've only started experimenting w/ stuff a year ago and I still don't know a lot. One thing I've picked up is how important bases are for eye shadows! Bases are wet so they have a sticky surface to powder to stick to, which makes it more vibrant in color, less fall out, and much less creasing and fading. For example:

As you can see, the eye shadow is so much lighter and less pigmented than when it is on the bases. Also, the color of the bases plays a bit of a role when it comes to color.
When playing w/ colors, I find that darker colors (like Root Beer) doesn't get affected as easily by the color of the base as a lighter color would. Rust is a deep maroon shade but it still turns out pretty dark brown when Root Beer goes on. As you can see though, Yogurt is a lighter shade which makes Root Beer a lot lighter than the other bases.

Pretty much - just experiment and see which color selections you like the most.

Because eye shadow bases are so important, I took advantage of the NYX sales and got 4!

With bases though - little goes a long way! Expect creasing w/ these if you use them alone.

TOODLES!

The One with the Bikini Golden

Yes, I love neutral looks but I wanted to spice things up a little! For some reason, I couldn't take a decent pic to save my life right here.

Products used:
Lancome shadow in Bikini Golden
E.L.F shadow (the coppery one) in the quad BUTTERNUT. Man, have I been using that quad like crazy?
Revlon Colorstay eyeliner in Blackberry
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara

Revlon Mineral Mousse Foundation in Light/Medium
Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Raisin Rum
Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in Everlasting Blush

*See how my forehead is darker than my face... it sucks!

I'm back. Summer's here and look out for so much more beauty posts!!

Mini Haul $3

Dollar store find.

The lip products aren't the best. That is the Bonne Bell Lip Lite in Champagne Frost. The problem with it is that it's thick and kinda drying.

I don't like that Maybelline lipstick at all.

However, the best thing that I got is that blush in I think "Deep Rose". SOOO PRETTY!!! SOO PIGMENTED!!
I think it looks nice now or even for the winter when I'm a little paler. Winter you want that "I just went to hang out in the snow" look so this is really good! LOVE it!

Also, I'm having a major reaction to and I'm pretty sure an eyeshadow. The weird thing is, I haven't bought any new eye shadows in awhile and the ones I used and I suspect are OLD! It sucks b/c my mom's all... what's wrong w/ your face?? I told you not to wear too much make up blah blah blah. Oh well, hopefully it'll fix itself soon enough.

The Blush Attack

So, Jane. going out of business and all has amazing sales lately and me, being a cheapo and all, got some coupons and decided to go shopping. I am now a proud owner of 3 Jane blushes!!

*image quality sucks! I miss my photoshop! Had to use my crappy Paint....

Blushing petal is matte - which is so awesome. It's a cool tone pink though so it won't warm up your face. Looks good for winter.

Blushing earth sheer is a lighter peachy pink color. Pretty shimmery (but I feel like the shimmer dies down a little after a while). Very light so it won't work on darker tanner skin tones.

Blushing plum is awesome! Plum is not like the actual fruit where it is like a bruised purple. No, it's really bright fun pink! Perfect for spring and summer. I like it. A bit shimmery so beware.

I find that all these blushes are pigmented and they are all last a while. I honestly recommend them especially now w/ a huge sale and all. I got Earth Sheer and Plum for 0.50 cent each b/c of the coupons. So be on the look out!

Bath TIME!

OMG, I don't know why my internet has been so slow lately!! It took forever to load this page. Anyways, now that my busy week is over, I now I have to post a little bit. I had to wash my brushes the other day and I wanted to make a post about it just because... I dunno. Well, this is how I clean my brushes and it's worked out well for me thus far.

This is what I use. The bottle of "water" is the cleaning mixture that I learned from Enkore's Channel. I love using it b/c after wards, my brushes smell nice and they're clean and just really awesome!

Then also, I was watching Pursebuzz talking about using a facial scrub that she doesn't like to deep clean her brushes and I realized I also have a scrub that I don't like. So that's what the Neutrogena face scrub in there is for.

So, I first pour some of my brush cleanser mixture in a little bowl. Enough to dip my brushes in but not a lot! Then I would take it and wipe it on a piece of paper towel. Then I would put some of my scrubs on there and just get into the bristles and scrub! Then rinse w/ water and hang them either upside down or on the side. Never dry them just standing straight up b/c that might ruin the brushes.

My foundation brush is always the dirtiest!

See how my skunk brush from Coastal Scents has the dyes coming out. This is the 2nd time I've washed it.

Here is one of my favorites E.L.F eyeshadow brushes. It is the eye defining brush and it is so awesome b/c it is slanted. It is multipurpose. You can do so much with it.

Let them layout to dry... this is an old pic. I have a bit more brushes (the coastal scents ones) since then.
