I can SEE!!

What am I talking about?? Well my lovely readers :D, I'm talking about the fact that I got glasses!! Yay!! Sorta yay. My mom says she likes me better w/out it but what do you guys think:

Yay or nay? Yeah, I don't have any make up on - just a bit of mascara actually but you can't really tell in this pic.

Anyways - let's talk... review. If I'm stuck on a desert island, I will always, always, ALWAYS bring this item: LIP BALM or CHAPSTICK. Whatever.

I've used quite a few different ones and I just want to talk about them:

1) Carmex!
** One of my first chapsticks ever. My mom used to buy it for me all the time.

My rating: 3/5

Thoughts: Um, it's been awhile since I've used this but this was a weird one for me. I loved it and used it for a few years and then it just stopped working for me. I always have it in this tube form and after awhile it just got weird in the tube... I think. I also don't like the smell or the taste. I appreciate the tingly feel (I like it b/c it lets me know it's working). I also don't like that it is thick and gooey. It does help me heal my chapped and dry lips though. This thing works but I guess I've found better chapsticks.

2) Softlips SPF15 (Strawberry flavor/scent)
** I found this at Biglots one day for $1 each. I bought 2 :)

Rating: 3/5

Thoughts: I like the fact that it has an SPF 15 b/c lips are just sensitive - especially against the sun. Although the packing is sleek and different, I'd prefer if it is a big bigger - I mean, bigger radius. W/ a product that has a bigger radius, I can just swipe, swipe, swipe carelessly and would be able to cover my entire lips. With Softlips, I have to work more. Not a big deal to some but when your lips are so chapped and they are DYING to get some healing done - yeah... you get the idea. Overall - it does heal my chapped lips and soothes it. I feel tinglies but not in a good way - my lips sometimes feel like it's... burning - not so bad but it doesn't feel comfortable. Could be b/c of the SPF. I also don't like the smell or the taste. I know a lot of people love Softlips for the scent but I don't like it at all. And the texture of it is 'runny'. Feels like a gloss when you rub your lips together. It doesn't absorb into the skin and thus making it kinda a bad moisturizer to use before using lipsticks. I might buy it though since I think it's pretty cheap at Walmart - $1.77.

3) Blistex - Silk & Shine SPF15

Rating: 4/5

Thoughts: This one is um... 3.5 to 4 out of 5 actually. Sometimes I love it and then sometimes I hate it. Like Softlips - I like that it has SPF15 and also like Softlips, I get that weird burning sensation also. But it smells better and it doesn't taste weird. And it has a bigger radius and also it isn't as runny <<-- but it still is. Although packaging is not as pretty and it is kinda bulky at times. I don't know how I feel about the silky and shine idea. It does have 'light reflecting particles' so it is kinda shiny. Okay, I think the reason why I don't like it that much is that I have to put a lot of this stuff on before I feel it is working. The healing power on this isn't the best. Softlips is only a little better. I live in the desert - I need good chapsticks! I think 4/5 is generous since I don't think I would repurchase. I might try other Blistex but not this specific one.

4) Burt's Bees
** Last but def. my favorite

Rating: 5/5 *cupcake award*

Thoughts: The only thing I wish it had was some SPF but that's pretty much it. I love the texture, the minty smell/taste, the fact that it really helps w/ my chapped lips! It works like a CHARM! The only thing is that it's more expensive than the other ones - around $3-4 so eh. I always go to TJ Maxx and there's always awesome deals on Burts Bees. Anyways, I didn't write a lot here b/c well, there's really nothing much to say except I really really really like this chapstick! Keep up the good work Burts Bees :D
** Oh wait - I hate that because I take this everywhere - I always tend to loose it -or at least I think I loose it. Mostly I just forgot it in the car or something.

---

Also honorable mentions for moisturizing lippies:
- Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipsticks - SPF15 also
- L'Oreal Juice Stick - discont
- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss
- CO BIGELOW Mentha Lip Tint

Speaking of TJ Maxx - I love browsing through their beauty stuff MORE than their clothing stuff. I love that I can find so many things for cheap!

Besides my Burts Bees stuff, I saw some cheap Biosilk, Nexxus, Nars lipglosses (yeah! Didn't buy it though), the brand H20, and lots more. Definitely check it out.

So that's it for now. I'm at work - trying to do Physics homework but is failing at it :) :/.

Midnight Affair - a love story

Man, this week is a bit crazy... school starting and all. But I have a little bit of time now to talk about....

Revlon's Nail Polish in Midnight Affair

** I have short nails b/c I play the piano
** Pic taken a few days after application

Brush: 3.5/5 - Kinda skinny so it takes a few strokes to get the entire nail which then leads to streaking. Wish it was a least a bit fluffier and not as stiff.

Polish Consistency: 5/5 - It's not too runny and it isn't too thick. I really like it. It took 2 coats to look awesome but one coat would've been fine - although you might still be able to see some streaking.

Drying Time: 4.5/5 - This thing dries... I guess the normal time. Revlon doesn't claim for it to dry fast so why think it. But it isn't something... like say ELF... where it takes FOREVER!

Color: 5/5 - I first bought this when I went to a Coldplay concert. I know, they're not hard core or anything but I really wanted to dress the part of a rock concert! Color is really dark - looks black from far away but it's really dark navy. It is a gorgeous color though :) It looks a bit dull after awhile but initially it had pretty flecks of glitter. Overall, I really like it.

Color selection: 5/5 - Revlon has an awesome collection of colors! I'm really interested in trying others.

Staying Power: 4/5 - Stayed for 4 days w/out base but w/ top coat. I hate taking this off though because it really takes FOREVER for my nail polish to get to it! Annoying as hell. It faded a bit and chipped only a little bit after 4 days.

Overall: 4.5/5 - Yeah, like I said, Revlon has a lot of awesome color selection and I really like the consistency of this polish. It is great and cheap - esp. w/ BOGO - so I really suggest people to buy some REVLON :D

That's all for now. School sucks! Ha ha... just had to say it.

Thanks for reading,

Confession of a Blush-aholic

So, my make up collection is growing. Actually, scratch that - it's not really a collection. I don't buy stuff just to have it. I really buy stuff because I think I could really use it. And I have a drawer full of make up. I would say 35% of it is blush! Blush blush blush! No matter what, I just keep buying it even though I know it is impossible for me to use them all up! But I don't swap my blushes away either! I don't know. I just really love BLUSH! It is an essential thing for me to have for my daily make up routine. So I'll share w/ you by beautiful babies.

1) The PINKS

- WnW's Pearlescence Pink: I love this (some say it is a Nars Orgasm dupe) but it has the golden glitter that makes me not want to wear it for everyday.

- Jane's Blushing Petal and Blushing Plum: amazing blushes! So cheap and so wearable for everday :D

2) The CORALS/PEACH

- Revlon's Honey Bunch: one reason I don't swatch for this is the packaging. It looks so pretty! And though I barely use this (I don't know why... b/c I love the color) I'm planning to keep this til the end!

- WnW's Spotlight Peach: one of my favorite blushes! I wrote a review and even place it as a product spotlight. Yes, I adore this baby. Oh, and you get 9 grams! DANG!

- CoverGirl's Pretty Peach: I think that's the name. One of my first blushes I ever bought for myself. It is so pretty although I wish it was a bit more pigmented on my skin.

** - Maybelline's Mineral Powder Blush in True Peach II: recently got it and very pretty - although I hate using mineral powder things.

3) The MISC Colors

- Revlon's Rose Petal: I think that's the name. It's kinda a mauvy-pink color. Another blush that I got since the beginning. I like it although it as a bit of a sheen to it. I use to apply it w/ a scratchy brush that it came w/... oh good old times :)

- CoverGirl's Deep Rose: Perfect color for the winter - when I'm all pale and stuff. It is like an apple red color. Very pigmented! Weird smell though - that goes for all the CG cheekers blush.

- NYX's Terracota: Adore this color! Peachy, corally, bronzy, but goes on a really really natural pink! LOVE IT! I believe this is my most expensive blush at $6-7. Yeah, most of my blushes I got on sale :D The only thing about this blush is that it isn't matte so there is a bit of a problem when it comes to wearing it everday. But I do love this color!

** - Milani's Luminous: Been wanting this for awhile but finally swapped for it! Yay. It's pretty good so far. Kinda has the same problems as my NYX.

4) Finally, Cream Blushes!

- Maybelline's Mousse Blush in Rose Petal: I really like this blush!! I love it but it has golden specs in it and so I can't wear it everyday because people will def. ask why my face is sparkly! But I love it nonetheless.

- Revlon's Berry Flirtatious: I like this cream blush - very pigmented and has great potential to last awhile. Not the biggest fan w/ the color but it will have to do for now. Best part is - it's MATTE! BUT it is hard to blend!

- Jane's Blushstix in Shimmering Pink: Not too shimmery. Smells bad - hey, I already did a review for this so I don't really want to repeat myself.

- E.L.F's Colorstick in Pink Lemonade: Smells bad. Kinda have the same shimmer as the Jane one. Def. not my favorite! Still usable though.

That's all I have. Well, it's a lot! But yeah. I tell you I love blushes! This leads to my announcement of:

I've decided to do a 10 Pan Project or whatever the order of the words are suppose to be. Can you see the words in the pic? On this computer, I can't see it at all!

So far:
+ Neutrogena Ance Stress Control Cleanser
+ Burts Bee's Lip balm (my 2nd or 3rd tube I think)

My hope is to hit pan on one of these blushes! I hate for them to go to waste.

Well, that's all for now.

Let's get WET and WILD!

Man, I hope this title won't show up on some porn search. But really, why the company name??

First... I just need to rant!

So I'm gonna rant now... so if you don't want to read... well you were warned!

- So I went to see Inglourious Basterds w/ my friend today at 11:00 and I had work at 2:00 so I was sorta on a time crunch. The movie is 2 hrs and 32 mins long so it would give me 30 mins to get to work which isn't bad. BUT the actual movie starts at around 11:15 so I was LATE! I had to text my manager and tell him that I'd be late and someone has to stay a bit longer. So I did taht and that worked out fine but the guy sitting next to me was pissed off that I was texting. SO, at the end of the movie, as I was about to leave, he was like "Well, I hope you enjoyed your little texting. Well, have a nice day and have fun w/ your texting". I knew he was mad so I said "Oh, I'm sorry about that." but he went on and on and was speaking really loudly - like across the theater loudly - "BYE!!" and so I was really annoyed and said "Bye" back to him. What a jackass!

I get that he's mad that I texted - I get bother sometimes by that too - BUT I GET OVER IT! Also, I wasn't do it to spite him while his little charade was aimed right at me. Some people are just ridiculous. And I'm still annoyed. I wasn't embarassed - maybe that's what he was hoping - I was embarassed for him. I'm just annoyed that some people will go to the extreme about something that isn't worth being rude for. HONESTLY! Get a life!

Have you guys ever been that pissed off about someone texting during a movie? Did you feel like being a b**** to them too?? I just want to know if I was out of line on this one.

-------

Okay I'm done :D

But I need to talk about some make up now - because this is a blog about that :) Not about my life. Okay, so I want to talk about: Wet n Wild!

Specially, Wet n Wild palettes:

WnW Trio - Mojave Mauve; Expression Eye Palette - Sand Castle

PROS:
+ Oh lord are they PIGMENTED!!
+ Such pretty neutrals!
+ I have so much neutral browns now that I don't think I'll need anything new ever again (not true but...)
+ Nice mirror so great for traveling
+ Each shadow is nicely packed and is not powdery
+ I don't get fall outs :)
+ Um... Love that taupe color and burgundy color in the trio (I haven't used the big palette as much yet)

CONS:
+ All shimmery shades - I wish there was a least one or two mattes
+ Um... that's pretty much it
+ Some colors don't WOW me

Overall: 5/5
You can't beat the price!! Both under $5 and the quality is GREAT! I don't have much eyeshadows but I do know some bad ones result in terrible powdery texture all over the place and terrible pigmentations! But not these. Of course, higher brands have not just quality, but awesome color selection and this is why WnW isn't a high end brand. But I'm satisfied! I don't need those colors because these ones will do a great job for now - especially for a make up beginner, like myself.

So, that's all for now. I just also like to say that "school is starting for me TOMORROW!" and that means my posting will be decreasing a steady rate. Just to let you know :D

Thanks for reading.... and oh by the way, I really liked Inglourious Basterds. It is prob. my favorite Quentin Tarantino movie - so go see it!! But becareful about who sits next to you ;p

Jane: Aguaceuticals; Hit or Miss...

So, I bought 3 things from the Jane Aguaceutical line and I want to do a bit of a review. First of all, Jane is not discontinued - only at Walgreens. I still see their products at Ulta. Second, I love love love their $3 blushing blushes! I own two and I absolutely LOVE them! Third, these are my own experiences. I feel like these products are worth mentioning and therefore I want to talk about them but it doesn't mean what happens to me will happen to you.

1) Agua ceuticals (I don't know if it is one word or not) Sheer Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 in Light Warm Tones for beige or yellow undertones

FIRST THOUGHTS:
+ I want something not too heavy but definitely moisturizing for summer
+ Oooh, really healthy ingredients
+ BOGO! YES! :D

PROS:
+ Claims to have natural organic ingredients
+ no parabens (which is really good)
+ SPF 30 is awesome
+ Gives light coverage so it can cover up some redness and discoloration

CONS:
+ Thick formulation - doesn't feel like a moisturizer should
+ Not moisturizing (excuse me! When I buy a tinted moisturizer, I obviously want some moisture in my skin... right?? NOPE).
+ Feels tacky - I can feel this on my skin once I've applied it.
+ Smells funky!
+ When I wash my face w/ my cleanser and I feel like everything is gone - I lick my lips and I taste bitterness... what is up w/ that?
+ I usually squeeze this on my hand and when I'm working on putting the stuff on, I notice the border of the moisturizer turned ORANGE
+ It started clumping into groups on my face

FINAL THOUGHTS: 2.5/5
Okay so I hated the product. Strangely, the first time I used it (and the second and the third), I didn't hate it. I thought - hey, nice coverage... wish it had more moisturizing feel though. But as time goes on, I start to hate it. I don't know, I feel like it is just me and that it could work on other people. Overall though, I don't like this tinted moisturizer at all. Although I don't say - BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK - I say - try it out but keep the receipt!

2) Blushstix in Shimmering Pink

FIRST THOUGHTS:
+ Yikes - don't like shimmery blushes
+ But I want to try more cream blushes
+ BOGO... why not

PROS:
+ Actually has color :D Not just shimmer!
+ Shimmer is not so bad!
+ It is totally wearable by my standard

CONS:
+ Hard to blend - texture sucks
+ Probably can't last without a powder blush on top
+ Smells bad

FINAL THOUGHTS: 3.5/5
I don't hate it but it's not something I MUST HAVE, you know. The color is okay and I think that is the problem - the color. Not my favorite. I don't think I would repurchase but, again, I don't hate it! I really think it is the color but there were 3 color choices... I thought pink would be the safest.

3) Mousse Eyeshadow in Sandstorm

FIRST THOUGHTS:
+ Could be a good eyeshadow base
+ Color looks awesome
+ Walgreens on sale! YES xD!

PROS:
+ Lovely color
+ Mousse texture - I love mousse texture

CONS:
+ Blends out to little or no color but just shimmer
+ I hear this can cause irritations to eyes...
+ Not that great for shadow bases

FINAL THOUGHTS: 2/5
Let me just say I love the color and texture but hated to use it :) It looked so nice when swatched on my hands but then it just didn't work out xp. Oh well.

In conclusion - this line is a MISS for me so far. If you guys have any inputs or anything to say, please comment! I would love to hear your experiences.

Thank you for reading,
have a lovely day :D

Nevernudes... ever heard of it?

Anyone watched Arrested Development?? Well, there's this character, Tobias, who can never be nude and he wears these cut-off shorts in the shower or whenever so he doesn't have to be nude... because he is a never-nude. It's hilarious. I just wanted to bring that up so I can talk about this thing that I found underneath my giant stash of lip sticks/lip glosses:

Yeah... It's my Wet n Wild lip stick in 516C Sunset Peach. It's actually a pretty frosty pale pink on my lips.

Thing is when I first got it, my mom hated the frosty look - and yeah, I did a bit too. But recently I've been wearing it just lightly and using my finger to blend out the color a bit and I think it looks great! Kinda a light nude-lilac-pink color. I really like it :) I tend to buy darker lip colors so this really helps me to achieve my nude look w/out looking wash out or whatever.

- I don't need to use gloss.
- It is moisturizing! Love it. My lips are sensitive so this is awesome.
- It's like $1... I think. But it's cheap and it works great.
- So if you ever need to try a new lipstick or something, I really like this.

- Be aware that color on the bottom of the tube is COMPLETELY OPPOSITE from the actual color of the lip stick.
- The color choices I get at my Walgreens are not the best. Maybe that's why I only have one.

Just another small review! Hope this helps anyone :)

Give me, give me more... reviews

When I started this blog, I wanted reviewing to play a big part in it. However, I find reviews means more writing - and more writing means more work - and more work sucks because I get very lazy.

BUT I've gotten over that today for a brief moment to write a new review and hopefully will help you in your decision next time you're at a drugstore or something.

I am talking about the Revlon Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss.

** Terrible cropped pics b/c I've never taken a picture w/ it by itself.

First thoughts:
+ Hmmm, does it look like something... I don't know... I can't put my finger on it... OH RIGHT! THE MAC's MINERALIZE SKINFINISH... DOI!
+ It looks very pretty - colors of tan and gold together. Might make a lovely bronzer w/ golden touches. Nice to highlight with. Good summer glow.
+ Yikes $13.99, that sucks but def. cheaper than the MAC's MSF if it does turn out to be a dupe.
(Oh yeah, I always abbreviate when I write 'definitely', dunno why)

Okay, so those are my initial thoughts when I was at the store, couple of months ago, in April, I think.

Final Thoughts:
PROS:
+ Pretty color
+ Healthy - talc free and all that

CONS:
+ Really really sheer - not enough pigmentation
+ Looks like pure shimmer

OVERALL: 2/5

Okay, so maybe that's not a lot but point is you put this stuff on and it doesn't show up or it shows up as shimmers... it doesn't have any colors so I don't get why it even has colors. It just wasn't worth it for the $14.

So I would say don't buy it. If you want a pretty baked mineralized blush or bronzer or whatever, look to Prestige for that. I hear that might be better and cheaper too (maybe, I don't get Prestige here so I wouldn't know).
I ended up swapping this for something else. Sorry Revlon~ Has anyone else tried this?? Did it work for you? Let me know :)

~**~

One last note, KC from Cambo Soup is having a give away contest!! Her blog is awesome - please check it out.

Here's my entry:

It's nothing crazy but it is something I'd totally wear. It just looks like you can wear it everywhere - party, casual, school, work! I love that the outfit is pretty neutral but then the shoes and the belt makes a statement - kinda bold statement too.

I was so new at this site that I didn't know they had tons of pages of clothes. I only thought they had one page for each clothing category. But anyways, I'm glad I don't have this much clothes because I'd be so confused what to wear all the time... but it would be nice.

Hope you enjoy this post and I hope you guys have a good weekend!

- TOodles!

Tag, I'm IT!

Yay, I never get tagged for anything... so this is special

This is a tag from one of my favorite blogs: Nouveau Cheap - she is the queen of finding awesome beauty gems that are budget friendly.

Her tag is to share my "11 Happy Things". So here they are, in no particular order:

1) Day dreaming

2) Music - amazing way to connect w/ people (I am in love w/ COLDPLAY right now)

3) Cute animals - dogs, pandas... :D

**Grumpy doggy in the morning:

4) Good book - Imagine this: it's cold and rainy outside and you're cuddled up w/ a good book... YES YES YES.

5) Jane Austen's male heroes - Darcy, Wentworth, Tilney (especially in the adaptations! They are so cute)

6) Watermelon - ever come home from an extremely hot day and then there's some watermelon waiting for you??? H-HEAVEN!

7) Good hair day - just makes me feel a lot more confident than when my hair is flopping about like alive!

8) Smiles - I'm attracted to 3 physical things in guys (not counting personality... because we all know what should be the most important! although sometimes I do overlook ;p) his eyes, his hair (yeah... weird), and his smile :)

9) Stepping on leaves when walking - I will go out of my way to step on a nice crunchy leaf

10) Making new friends - I love meeting new people (well, I sometimes get really nervous but I love finding that there are people who I can really relate to - like all these beauty bloggers that I've gotten to know!)

11) Laughing til you cry - laughter is the best medicine... what can I say? No not evil laughter - although that is fun also!

For some reason, that was harder than I thought. I guess there are a lot of things that make me happy!

And I want to tag all of you who are reading this! But there are a few bloggers who I've gotten to know a bit and I want to know MORE!

KC from Cambo Soup (ha ha, you get tagged a lot but here's another you can do!)
Ahleessa from Ahleessa 4 Realz
Rai from la.morena

But seriously - everyone should do this! It's quite fun.

But to end on a make up note: ELF has been BUSY this summer!! Check out their stuffies!
** Pics are from ELF.

Single shadow - I've been waiting for some eye shadows in the studios line! Yay. The colors look great too! Lots of pretty neutrals.

Single Blush - man! The packaging is so much like NARS! The only thing about these blushes is that they are really shimmery in the pictures...

This is so interesting. I really want to try them out.

For $1... I am interested.

I also hear the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer works well for oily lids too. I'm a big fan of ELF and I can't wait to order some of these awesome new things.

Well, ta ta for now!
